RYA YOUTH WINDSURFING STAGE 4 – 2 DAYS

Experience Full-Pelt Planing in Caernarfon, Wales!

In Stage 4 your instructor will teach you all about blasting control in the harness and footstraps and practising tacking and gybing in stronger wind. This course is all about the need for speed and that amazing feeling of full pelt planing (when the board skims across the water!)

Once you have mastered the practical skills and knowledge required in Youth Stage 3, its time to hook in and hang on! During Stage 4 your instructor will help you to set up you board and rig correctly, enhance your stance on all points of sailing and introduce basic harnessing techniques in stronger winds.

Stage 4 builds on a confident ability to tack, gybe and windsurf in the harness, introducing your to the basic techniques needed to use the foot straps

We cannot guarantee to “sign off” certificates at this level but structure the course to give as much input as we can to make you a better windsurfer.
What’s included
Our friendly and experienced instructors will guide participants every step of the way, providing clear instruction, encouragement, and a positive learning environment.We will also provide all necessary personal protective clothing including wetsuits, waterproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets.

Highlights
In strong winds we use high wind coaching techniques and in light wind we concentrate on light wind freestyle and tricks to practice skills using “muscle memory”.
This course is not designed as solely a “certificated course”. The aim is to give the right coaching at the right time to improve the windsurfing and we sign off the certificate when we can. The course is like watching your favourite film, you can come on this course time and time again and will always learn something new as the conditions will nearly always be different!
