At Plas Menai, we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of Rescue 3 International–certified training courses, covering the majority of the water and boat rescue syllabus. Our most popular courses include the Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator (SFRBO) and Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT), which have become essential qualifications for professionals working in challenging aquatic environments. We are one of the few centres in Wales qualified to deliver the SFRBO course, as well as the Rescue Boat Operator (RBO) course—something we take great pride in. Our location on the dynamic Menai Strait provides a unique and realistic training environment that closely mirrors operational conditions.
Our team of instructors bring decades of real-world experience in water rescue and emergency response, ensuring that every course is grounded in practical, tested knowledge. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of training a wide range of organisations, including fire and rescue services, ambulance services, police forces, mountain rescue teams, and private sector companies. Our aim is simple: to ensure that anyone operating in, on, or near water does so safely, confidently, and to the highest professional standards.
