Become an RYA Wingsurf Instructor in Caernarfon!

2025 sees the introduction of the RYA Wingsurf Instructor Course to the programme. This course has been created to prepare new and experienced instructors to introduce the new and exciting world of winging to a larger audience in a safe and progressive manner.

Our friendly and experienced instructors will guide participants every step of the way, providing clear instruction, encouragement, and a positive learning environment.

Highlights
The course will combine on water training and assessment of teaching skills, with shore based sessions covering teaching techniques and related theory topics.

Successful students will gain a Wingsurfing Instructor Certificate (2 day course)

Teaching within an RYA wingsfuring scheme is progressive – you can develop your skills by taking further courses.

It would be helpful to have RYA WingSurf Instructor Handbook HERE.

There is also an E-Book. Having access on your phone or tablet through the course would be ideal.

– Swimming togs & towel
– Footwear for on the water
– Sock that cover your ankles
– 50p for locker

Special requirements
Pre-Requisites
– 16 years old
– RYA membership
– RYA Powerboat Level 2
– RYA Safe and Fun certificate and pre course work
– Valid First Aid certificate (A full list of certificates recognised by the RYA can be found here)
– Passport style photo if not already and RYA Instructor
Extras
– Accommodation available as an add on
– £60 Per Room (£12 Surcharge for additional person per room)

On successful completion of your course you will be asked to sign a health declaration stating that you are not suffering from any physical or mental impairment which has an adverse effect on your ability to properly discharge your duty of care as an instructor. If you are unable to sign the standard declaration, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
